Women's Ice Hockey Ties Game to Saint Anselm, 0-0

The Holy Cross Crusaders women's ice hockey team, ranked third, hosted the Saint Anselm College Hawks who are ranked first in this afternoon's last conference match and regular season game of the season. In a 0-0 decision after overtime the Crusaders finished out their regular season 15-7-3 (13-4-2 ECAC) while the Hawks end with 21-2-1 (17-1-1 ECAC) going into the ECAC semifinals.

No goals were scored in the first period as the Crusaders took nine shots on goal and the Hawks also took nine.

In the second period no goals were scored as the Crusaders had 13 shots and the Hawks had another nine.

No goals were scored in the third period. The Crusaders had six attempts on goal while the Hawks had 11.

In overtime no goals were scored. Holy Cross and Saint Anselm both had three shots on goal.

In goal tonight for the Crusaders was freshman Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) with a total of 36 saves. For the Hawks, senior Andrea Berlin was in goal with 25 saves.

The Crusaders play again March 2 in the ECAC semifinals. Times and location are to be announced.
