March 11, 2008
HOUSTON -- Senior high-jumper Ivan Diggs and junior sprinter Seun Adigun both were selected to represent the University of Houston track and field team at the NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be held March 15-16 in Fayetteville, Ark. Diggs will make his second-straight appearance at the Indoor Championships, after setting a provisional mark of 2.22m (7-03.25) at the Houston Opener on Jan. 12. Adigun will compete in the 60-meter hurdles. The Chicago, Ill., native set a personal record in the event last weekend at the Arkansas Last Chance Meet, posting a clocking of 8.23. This marks Adigun's first career appearance at the NCAA Championships. "I'm really proud of both of them. Both are strong leaders and work extremely hard," head coach Leroy Burrell said. "Ivan has an excellent shot to score high. He's in a good position and he's got a great chance to reach the podium. "Seun has got a little work to do, but I have no doubts that she can succeed. We're proud of both of them. We want both of them to score and that's our objective for this weekend."
