ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team has been named the fourth seed after finishing in a four-way tie for the American Southwest Conference West Division Title and will play UT-Tyler in the first round of the ASC Championship Series, beginning Friday in Tyler.

The game times will be set on Monday. The winner of the four best 2-of-3 series will advance to a double elimination tournament the following weekend at McMurry, if they win their best 2-of-3 series.

McMurry was deemed to be the No. 1 seed by the tiebreaker procedure used by the league after the four West qualifiers finished with a 14-7 record in ASC West. Concordia was named second, and Ozarks third.

HSU has won 12 straight games going into the postseason and has a record of 26-14.
