ANNA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the American Southwest Conference Championships at the par-72 Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, Texas.

Ashley Luecke led the Cowgirls effort with an 84. Heather Hambrick shot 87, Whitney Mitchell fired a 92, DeLane Griffith carded a 95 and Addie Vest shot 100.

McMurry leads the team race after shooting 333. UT-Tyler is second with a 338, UMHB shot 352 and the Cowgirls shot a 358 for fourth.

Luecke is in seventh place overall. Samantha Humphrey shot 75 to lead the individual race.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.
