Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons and Howard Payne played a pair of tight matches a year ago in women's tennis, including a 5-4 HSU win in the American Southwest Conference final. This year there was not so much drama as the Cowgirls rolled to a 9-0 win over Howard Payne and extended their ASC winning streak to 71 matches, Thursday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.

The Cowgirls were not challenged in any match en route to the win. Tracy Henington won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Kayla Smith. Lisa Mertz, Brittany Brazell, Jennifer Chueng, Bria Camarillo and Diane Crouch all rolled in singles action.

HSU improved to 7-6 on the year and 4-0 in ASC West action. HPU fell to 5-8 and 3-3.

On Friday the Cowgirls host Mary Hardin-Baylor at 3 p.m. The Lady Cru come in with a 4-0 record in ASC play.
