Paul Bubb Appointed to NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee
Feb. 8, 2008 Pocatello, ID --- Idaho State University Director of Athletics Paul A. Bubb has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee, announced officials at the NCAA. The appointment begins in September of 2008 and will last through September 2012. The committee is best known for selecting the eight at-large teams for the Division I Football Championships and seeding the 16-team playoff tournament. Bubb, who became ISU's Director of Athletics on January 11, 2005 and has been at Idaho State since the fall of 2003, has served as an NCAA Site Representative for the FCS Playoffs in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. As a site representative, he was responsible for overseeing the playoff games as an NCAA Liasion, and making certain they games are conducted as championship events in accordance with NCAA policies. Bubb has also spent the past two years on the West Regional Advisory Committee for the FCS, which is a support group for the Division I Football Championship Committee. "I'm looking forward to being even more involved with the FCS championships than before and appreciate the opportunity to have an even greater voice in Division I football." Said Bubb. "Not only is this a nice personal honor, but also significant for Idaho State University and the Big Sky Conference as I serve on this national committee." |
