Final Stats

Hinsdale, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team took down Wayne State on Saturday at the Hinsdale Racquet Club, defeating the Warriors 7-0.

The Flames kicked things off by picking up the doubles point, a key component to success against Horizon League teams later on this season. The pairing of Sebastian Lystad and Bastian Harbo was successful at the first position, winning a close match 9-7.

Junior Adriano Liccardo teamed up with Eric Fey at the third position and easily won 8-1.

The singles matches all ended with UIC claiming victory over Wayne State, with only the number one position going to three sets. Sophomore Sebastian Lystad pulled out the win in a 7-6, 6-7, 10-6 victory over Antoine Marenaud.

The Flames host a pair of matches next weekend, when UIC takes on Southern Methodist on Friday, February 8 at 7 p.m., and faces off against Xavier on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.

Both matches will take place at the Hinsdale Racquet Club, located in Hinsdale at 5730 South Grant Street.
