Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season At Ted Haydon Invitational
March 29, 2008 Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's and women's track and field teams opened up the 2008 outdoor season at the Ted Haydon Invitational hosted by the University of Chicago on Saturday afternoon. Recording UIC's top finish for the men's squad was Joe Bailey's second place performance in the hammer throw. Bailey tossed a distance of 44.32 meters. Terell Williams and Roger Pinon turned in solid performances for the Flames. Williams placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.21 meters. Pinon finished in fourth place in the 5,000-meter run crossing the finish line at 15:56.02. Other notable performances for the men included fifth place finishes for Mikhail Morrison in the 400-meter dash (52.32) and Rupesh Manam in the 110-meter hurdles (18.15). Erin Clark highlighted the women's squad with her fifth place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.03 meters. Idara Essien also clocked in at 14.01 seconds in the 100-meter dash. UIC's next meet will take place on April 3-5 at the Chicagoland Championships in Naperville, Ill.
