Butler Twilight Results in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Indianapolis, Ind. - The UIC men's and women's track and field teams geared up for the upcoming Horizon League Outdoor Championships at the Butler Twilight on Saturday afternoon.

Joseph Mbari took top honors for the men's squad placing fourth in the 1,500-meter run. Mbari clocked in with a season-best time of 4:01.97.

Lewis Brown turned in a Top 10 finish in the 800-meter run. The freshman placed ninth with a time of 2:00.17.

In the field events, Oscar Pina recorded his best mark of the outdoor season in the triple jump with a leap of 12.71 meters.

The best finish of the day was the men's 4x400-meter relay team, which placed second with a season-best time of 3:25.37.

The women's side also showed well in the relay events. The women's 4x100-meter relay took fourth place, clocking in with a season-best time of 55.59 seconds.

Idara Essien highlighted top individual performances for the women, taking third place honors in the triple jump with a leap of 11.71 meters.

In the pole vault, Sarah Welch posted her best mark of her career, placing eighth with a tally of 2.95 meters.

Danyelle Somerfield, Olivia Myers, and Kristin Scolarici also set season-best times in the 1,500-meter run.

UIC will compete this Thursday and Friday (May 8-9) at the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Youngstown, Ohio.
