Women's Basketball Faces Wright State On Thursday Afternoon Jan. 30, 2008
UIC Women's Basketball Game Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team returns to the Pavilion on Thursday afternoon to battle Horizon League foe Wright State at 4:30 p.m. CST. The Flames are looking to pick up their sixth win at home against the Raiders. UIC is 6-12 overall and 2-5 in league play, while Wright State is 7-11 on the season and 4-3 on conference action. The Flames lead the series, 22-16. UIC enters the contest 5-2 at home. In seven games at the Pavilion this season, the Flames have outscored their opponents, 431-420. UIC has also picked up 16 more steals (61-45) and forced its opponents to commit 129 turnovers. Sophomore Briana Hinkle paces the team in Horizon League contests with 15.6 points per game. Sophomore Jessie Miller has drained a team-best 17 three-pointers and averages 13.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Cassie Johnson has totaled a team-high 11 blocks. Wright State is coming off of two straight league victories over Valparaiso and Butler at home last week. WSU's offensive charge is led by freshman Sheylani Peddy with 15.1 points. Peddy is shooting 54 percent from the field and 68.4 percent from the line. Senior Sierra Crayton averages a team-high 5.3 boards per game. UIC heads to Indiana to face Butler on Thurs., Feb. 7 and Valparaiso on Sat., Feb. 9.
