Women's Basketball Faces Loyola In First Round Of League Tournament March 9, 2008
Women's Basketball Game Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - The eight-seeded UIC women's basketball is set to tangle with ninth-seeded Loyola in the first round of the 2008 Horizon League Tournament on Monday, March 10 at the Pavilion. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST. Loyola leads the series, 28-26. The teams spilt in regular season play with UIC downing the Ramblers at Gentile Center, 63-57. The matchup marks the first time the two teams will meet in postseason play. The Flames (10-19) are looking to bounce back after falling to Youngstown State, 71-62, in their final regular season game at the Pavilion on March 8. Overall, Jessie Miller leads UIC with 13.8 points and 2.4 assists per game. Nikki Grobbecker averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game. Loyola (7-22) is coming off a 75-62 loss to Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon at home. Elyse VanBogaert paces the Ramblers with 10.3 points per game, while Brittany Boeke leads the squad with 5.7 boards per game.
