Chicago, Ill. - UIC junior Annie Kachman (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week for the period ending March 18.

Kachman won her third all-around of the season notching a 38.875 versus Illinois State last Tuesday. In addition, her high scores on the vault (9.750), floor exercise (9.750), and uneven bars (9.725) guided the Flames to their second victory of the season.

On Saturday night against No. 26 Illinois, Kachman tallied her best all-around performance of the season with an impressive 39.250. Kachman managed to add a career-best to her resume scoring a 9.900 on the balance beam. She finished the night off with a pair of 9.800 scores on the floor exercise and vault as well a 9.750 on the vault.

Kachman's efforts on Saturday night also helped UIC earn its highest team score of the season compiling a 193.850.

This award marks the second of the season for Kachman and the sixth of her career.

The UIC women's gymnastics team will conclude its regular season this Saturday (March 22) at the State of Illinois Classic in Urbana, Ill.
