Indianapolis, Ind. - After an hour rain delay, the UIC softball team downed Butler, 1-0, in the final contest of the three-game series on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind.

Ashlee Ackerman, Brooke Frydendall and Alicia Abbott each picked up two hits on the afternoon. Sarah Clynes and Frydendall drilled doubles, while Brittany Dixon was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Clynes tossed a two-hitter in her seventh win in the circle with six strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched.

The contest remained scoreless until the top of the fourth inning. After a Butler pitching change, Frydendall led off the inning with a double to right field. The sophomore advanced to third base on a passed ball.

Dixon then singled to right field, driving in Frydendall for the 1-0 lead.

UIC (11-21) hosts Green Bay in a doubleheader on Wed., April 2 starting at 4 p.m.
