Chicago, Ill. - Sarah Clynes pitched another gem in the circle to help guide the UIC softball team to a 2-0 triumph over second-seeded Valparaiso in the Horizon League Softball Tournament at Loyola Softball Park on Thursday night.

UIC (24-31) will face No. 3 Wright State (30-24) on Friday, May 9 at 1 p.m. in the winner's bracket.

Clynes, who allowed just three hits, picked up her seventh shutout of the season. The junior improved her record to 15-17 overall with five strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched.
