Softball Heads To Rogers Park For Twinbill Against Loyola April 15, 2008
UIC Softball Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team travels to Rogers Park to square off against Loyola for two games on Wednesday afternoon. The doubleheader is set to start at 4 p.m. UIC is 16-23 overall and 7-3 in Horizon League play, while Loyola is 11-15 on the season and 5-3 in conference action. The Flames lead the series against the Ramblers, 55-12-1. UIC tied for 26th in the nation with 1.46 doubles per game. Florida International and Texas Southern share the ranking with the Flames. The Flames are looking to rebound after a rough doubleheader against Valparaiso last Friday at Flames Field. Sarah Clynes leads UIC in league games with a .486 batting average (18-for-37). The junior has totaled 12 runs, four doubles, 12 RBI and five home runs in just 10 league contests. Clynes is one home run shy of inching her way into the UIC single-season (10-three players) and career record book (20-two players). Loyola faces No. 20 DePaul at home before its doubleheader against UIC on Wednesday. The Ramblers are paced by Ellen Kresl with a .403 batting average, ranking 48th in the nation.
