UIC Softball Game Notes in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team takes on its second straight nationally-ranked team in three days when they face No. 23 DePaul on Thursday afternoon in Lincoln Park.

The first pitch at Cacciatore Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Blue Demons lead the series, 42-20.

UIC (18-27) is coming off a 9-1 loss to No. 12 Northwestern on April 22 in Evanston. Sarah Clynes has been UIC's offensive weapon this season with a .375 batting average. Clynes has totaled 54 hits, 33 runs, 10 doubles, 31 RBI and 11 homers.

The junior hurler also guides the squad in the circle with 102 strikeouts in 150.1 innings pitched.

DePaul (34-14) swept Illinois yesterday at home in non-conference action. The Blue Demons play Loyola tonight at Cacciatore Stadium before hosting the Flames tomorrow.

DPU is led by Amber Patton with a .395 batting average. Becca Heteniak is 19-6 in the circle with 166 strikeouts in 154.2 innings of work.

The Flames battle Detroit in their final Horizon League three-game road series this weekend on April 26 and 27.
