Women's Tennis Defeats Cleveland State
April 20, 2008 Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team closed the book on another undefeated Horizon League regular season with a 4-3 victory over Cleveland State on Sunday morning. After claiming the doubles point, the Flames top three singles positions clinched the match for UIC. Ilinca Cristescu, a serious candidate for Horizon League newcomer of the year, defeated Jackie Tabb with a 6-1, 6-2 performance. Lubica Nadasska and Kristen McPhillips followed suit, winning their matches in straight sets as well. After the match, seniors Nadasska and Grace Gill-Morlis were honored as part of the senior day festivities. The Flames will head to the Horizon League championships, held in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 25th.
