Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW senior forward Jaraun Burrows scored a career-high 30 points and senior guard Demetrius Johnson registered another double-double as IPFW topped North Dakota State, 82-63 on Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Coliseum. Burrows was 10-12 from the floor, including a triple, and 9-12 from the foul line. North Dakota State put together an 8-0 run to cut the IPFW lead to just one at 22-21 on a layup from the Summit League's leading scorer, junior guard Ben Woodside. The Bison pushed ahead of IPFW for the first time in the game at the 3:07 mark on a free-throw from junior center Lucas Moormann and went to the break with a, 29-28 lead. In the second half, the Burrows-Johnson connection began to become a factor. IPFW took a, 46-37 lead on a layup by Burrows off of a driving dish-off from Johnson. Lepper gave the 'Dons an 11 point lead on a jumper from just inside the arc. IPFW held that double-digit lead until Woodside cut it back to nine with a layup at the 4:50 mark. A 3-pointer from senior forward DeWitt Scott quickly quieted the Bison comeback, and the 'Dons pulled away for the 19 point win. Burrows also had three steals and two assists to go along with his 30 points. Freshman guard Ben Botts finished the afternoon with 14 points and six rebounds. Junior forward David Carson was a point shy of a double-double with nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Junior forward Brett Winkelman led the Bison (11-11, 5-6) with 18 points. IPFW held Woodside to well under his 20 point average with 11. Moorman also finished with 11 points.
