Results

Kansas City, MO - The IPFW Mastodons (10-9, 2-0 Summit League) won their second straight contest in the Summit League cluster hosted by UMKC, picking up a 5-2 victory over the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State University (5-10, 1-1 Summit).

The `Dons won five of the six singles matches, including a 6-1, 6-0 victory by Herman Kuschke at No. 3. Nabil Filho won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, with Carlos Gonzales rallying from a one-set deficit, winning in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4. Francisco Sigaud (6-1, 6-4) and Arturo Salgado (6-2, 6-3) each picked up straight set victories, winning at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

The Jackrabbits picked up the doubles point in the match, winning two of the three matches in pairs, with IPFW's victory coming at No. 3 where Kuschke and Sigaud teamed up to win 8-2. The No. 1 duo of Filho and Jones narrowly lost in a tiebreaker, 9-8.

The squad plays in its final match of the Kansas City cluster when they face off against Oral Roberts (2-5) at 9:00 AM on Sunday.
