Box Score

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW Men's Volleyball team evened its record at 11-11 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Mercyhurst College on Friday night at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.

The Mastodons blanked the Lakers by the scores of 30-16, 30-21, and 30-24.

Three 'Dons hit for double-figure kills with senior middle Josh Stewart and senior opposite Jason Yhost bagging 11.  Stewart hit a scorching .733 on the night.  Yhost slugged .500

Senior outside hitter C.J. Macias was the other 'Don in double-digits with 10.

As a team the Mastodons hit .425 in the match.

Sophomore libero Matt Pliske led the defensive effort with 15 digs, and senior setter Graydon Ainsworth dished out 44 assists.

Freshman opposite Johathan Gurr was the only Laker in double-digits with 13 kills.

Mercyhurst (5-16, 1-10 MIVA) hit .175.

With the win, IPFW also improves to 4-5 in conference.  They will host the MIVA's third place team, Lewis University, Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
