Results

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW women's tennis team dropped the final two matches of the weekend to fall to 3-5 on the season.

The Mastodons, who are a bit banged up, fell to Akron on Friday night, 6-1 at the Pine Ridge Racquet Club.  Senior Ashley Coulson was the only 'Don to secure a point.  It was also the first match that outstanding freshman Amy Recht would come out on the wrong end of the ledger, falling to Tanya Gombera 6-3, 7-6 (4). 

On Saturday night, IPFW fell to visiting Dayton by the exact, 6-1 score.  Recht got back on track with a win over Allysa Detroy 6-0, 6-2.  Recht now stands at 7-1 at the No. 1 singles spot for the Mastodons.

IPFW will have a few days to recoup.  They will be off until Friday when they host a pair of matches at Pine Ridge.  The Mastodons host Niagara University at 9:00 a.m. then come back at night to host Eastern Illinois at 7:00 p.m.
