Results

Indianapolis, IN - The IPFW Mastodons improved to 2-0 in the Summit League, defeating UMKC by a 4-1 score at the league's cluster, hosted in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The `Don victory was the second of the day for IPFW, as earlier they toppled IUPUI by a 4-2 count. In the nightcap, IPFW won at No. 2 doubles as Sachi Janek and Amy Recht picked up an 8-1 win, before Hanna Hager and Alexa Rang won 8-5 at No. 3 pairs.

Recht improved to 2-0 in the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles. The first singles win led the way in straight set wins, as Ashley Coulson won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 and Stacy Lish was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 4.

With the pair of wins on the day, IPFW improves to 12-7 on the season.

They take to the courts again tomorrow, where they will face off against the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah University at 9:00 a.m.
