Recht Named Summit League Player of the week :: Freshman was undefeated in singles and doubles

Elmhurst, IL - IPFW freshman Amy Recht has been chosen as The Summit League women's tennis player of the week for her performance for IPFW last week.

The Homestead High School graduate receives Athlete of the Week honors going undefeated in both singles and doubles.

In a Mastodon win over Austin Peay, she defeated Mariana Pagan in straight sets at No. 1 singles, then teamed with Sachi Janek at No. 2 doubles to defeat Alexandria Pyle and Michelle Liew, 8-1.

In a loss to Evansville, Recht was the only IPFW to record a victory in singles play, defeating Lisa Kawamoto 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 slot. In doubles, she and Janek defeated Kawamoto and Sara Wilhoite, 9-8 (7-4).

IPFW is now 1-2 on the season. The Mastodons return to action this weekend with matches against Saint Louis and Bradley in Peoria, Illinois.
