Elmhurst, IL - Junior Sachi Janek has been named The Summit League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance in IPFW's two wins last week.

Janek (Fort Wayne, IN/Northrop) receives Athlete of the Week honors after going undefeated in a pair of dual-meet wins.

At No. 3 singles, she breezed past Robert Morris' Sarah Meier in the morning, but suffered a back injury during her match with Western Kentucky's Brittany Waiz. Barely able to move and down 2-5, Janek battled back and won her match 6-2, 7-5, clinching the 4-3 win for IPFW.

She also teamed with Amy Recht to pick up wins at No. 1 doubles (Robert Morris) and No. 2 doubles (Western Kentucky).

Janek joins Recht, Stacy Lish, and Ashley Coulson as Summit League Player of the Week award winners.
