JACKSON, Miss. - Following a downpour that suspended play during Friday's game the Jackson State Tigers picked up where they left off on Saturday. The JSU baseball team beat Texas Pan American 15-9 in the first of a three game series. Friday's game was stopped at the bottom of the seventh inning, when JSU held an 8-7 advantage. In the eighth inning JSU went on the offensive scoring seven runs to take a commanding 15-7 lead. In the ninth inning the Broncos scored two runs. Enrique Quintero led JSU's offensive attack, as he went 3-5 at the plate with three runs and three RBI. Brionne JONES went 2-4 with two runs and two RBI. Derek Johnson had three hits a run and four RBI. Cortez COLE had two hits, three runs and two RBI. Marquise ZACHARY, Quintero, and Johnson all had home runs for Jackson State. |
