JACKSON, Miss. - Voters picked the Tigers of Jackson State in the East and the Panthers of Prairie View A&M in the West to top their respective divisions. Jackson State finished first in the Eastern Division last season with a 33-23 overall record (17-7 SWAC). Prairie View finished the season at 34-25, (17-7 in SWAC) and went on the play Rice University in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Baseball playoffs. 2007 Predicted Order of Finish Eastern Division : 1. Jackson State, 2. Alcorn State, 3. Miss. Valley State, 4. Alabama State, 5. Alabama A&M. Western Division: 1. Prairie View A&M, 2. Southern, 3. Grambling State, 4. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 5. Texas Southern. Jackson State will open the 2008 season on Feb. 22 when the Tigers to Atlanta, GA to face Georgia State. |
