CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Jackson State men's golf team struggled in the second round of the NCAA East Regional at Council Fire Golf Club. The Tigers shot a team score of 334. After two rounds of play the Tigers are the 27th team in the tournament with a score of 636. Brett Benson fired a team low 75 (four over par). Michael Bailey shot an 82 (+11), Albert Kilgore, III shot 83 (+12) and Reginald Newton finished with a 94 (+23). The top 10 teams at each of the three NCAA Regionals will make up the field for the NCAA Championship May 28-31 in West LaFayette, Ind. The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be held on Saturday. The Tigers are scheduled to tee off at 12:55 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson State will be paired with Mississippi (25th) and Western Illinois (26th). Live scoring and Saturday's tee times can be found at www.golfstat.com. |
