JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Xavier University in non-conference tennis action Saturday afternoon. With the loss JSU falls to a 12-6 record.

Xavier won 2-1 in doubles play and 5-1 in singles.

Xavier's Matthew Walker and Mikhail Vaval-Deese beat Brandon Nelson and Nicholas Crawford 8-4 at No. 1. At No. 2 Arturo Jimenez and Yacouba Traore defeated Mario Myles and Miroslov Vukicevic 9-8 for JSU and Alejandro Martinez and Sergio Salinas fell 8-3 to Vusumzi Kempele and Terry Richardson.

In singles play Traore picked up JSU's on win as he defeated Vaval-Deese at No. 3.

JSU will return to action April 16 for the 2008 SWAC Tennis Championships in Alexandria, LA.
