HOUSTON, Texas - It was Tayari Clay who led the Jackson State University women's track team at the 57th Annual Texas Southern Relays on March 22 when she took two first place finishes, one in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.62 seconds and the other in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.43 seconds which qualifies her for the NCAA regional track meet. Lisa Quinn and Courtney Prentiss followed Clay with top honors in the 200 meter dash as they finished second and third respectively with less than a second separating all of their times. Toniece Williams finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.51 seconds and second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1.02.11. Marlisa Hamlett finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles and sixth in the 100 hurdles with times of 1.03.10 and 14.62. Equonda Netters placed in the top six in field events for the Lady Tigers. She finished the pole vault with a final height of 2.95 meters. |
