Final Stats

MONTGOMERY, AL - The Jackson State Lady Tigers posted an 11-1 win over the Alabama State Lady Hornets Friday to improve their SWAC record to 7-5.

The Lady Tigers quickly posted a two run lead in their opening frame off of four hits and reeled off another two runs in the top of the third to take the lead 4-0. The Lady Tigers went on to post seven more runs in the next two innings to seal the victory.

The Lady Hornets could only get one hit off of Pitcher Jessica Villegas as she struck out eight and only allowed one run.

Amanda Boggan had fours runs and one run batted in while Ray Williams and Carsheena Blanks each had two runs and two hits respectively.

Due to a lack of players Alabama State had to forfeit the last two games of the three-game series.

The Lady Tigers return to action at home Tuesday, Apr. 15 at 4 p.m. when they host Belhaven.
