Johnson C. Smith freshmen Leford Green and Shermaine Williams won national titles at the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field championships Saturday in Mankato, Minn. It is the first time in school history Golden Bulls have won individual national championships.
Williams broke the Division II record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.24 seconds. The previous record was 8.44 set by Saint Augustine's Marquita Davis in 2006. Green won the 400 meters with a time of 47.79, beating out Saint Augustine's Randy Curry. |
