Feb. 6, 2008
The Johnson C. Smith University Lady Golden Bulls (14-7, 12-6 in region) are one of two Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) schools to be regionally ranked according to the latest polls. Johnson C. Smith came in at #8 up from #10 last week. Fayetteville State is the other school coming in at the #10 slot. On a two-game winning streak, the Lady Bulls will look to extend that mark when they face off against the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University tomorrow, February 7, 2008 at 5:30 pm in Ettrick, Va. The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee releases the top 10 teams in each of the eight regions every Wednesday through March 5, 2008. Johnson C. Smith is a member of the South Atlantic Region. Note: The regional rankings are through games as of Feb. 3. Johnson C. Smith's overall record is 14-7 but that includes two games against Division I opponents (Winthrop University and Winston-Salem State University) which are not included in the regional rankings. Last night's win against Virginia State University will be included in next week's rankings.
