Final Stats

On Tuesday evening at the Biddleville Park, Johnson C. Smith University (2-4) banged out 21 hits and stole 13 bases as the Lady Golden Bulls routed Shaw, 12-4 (5 inn.), and 9-6. Shaw remains winless on the season.

Game two was a closely contested one for the Lady Golden Bulls, winning by just three runs (9-6). Freshman hurler Allycia Watanbe (Waipahu, Hawaii) was solid in the circle permitting five runs on six hits over six innings of work. The Waipahu, Hawaii, native also K'ed eight while walking just three batters. Watanabe opened the contest by retiring the Shaw line-up in order in the top of the first as left fielder Cheryl Salter, center fielder Marquita Pittman, and catcher Dominique Williams all struck out.

Shaw did not go down without a fight, as Salter and Williams went 2-for-4 and 3-for-4 respectively, including a double and a triple on the evening.

The Bulls were led by Rashondae Henderson (Caruthersville, Md.) who went 2-for-3 while Williams went 1-for-4, but more importantly drove in two runs.

JCSU moves on to face the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's College on Friday, Mar. 21. The first pitch will take place at 1 p.m. at Biddleville Park.
