LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins sophomore right fielder Brian Youchak (Pittsburgh, PA/Vincentian Academy) was named the Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday by the league office. Youchak, who helped the Blue Jays recorded four wins this week to open the Centennial Conference schedule, is the third straight Blue Jay to win player of the week honors.

Youchak started his week with a 3-for-3 performance in the Centennial opener against McDaniel. He scored two runs in the contest to go along with an RBI. He also had a stolen base and a double. Youchak followed that up by going 2-for-3 at McDaniel on Friday. He scored three runs in that contest and added another double and a sacrifice fly. In the doubleheader against Swarthmore, Youchak was a combined 2-for-6 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

For the week, Youchak hit .583 in the four games. He was tied for the team lead in runs scored (8) and hits (7) while recorded three extra base hits and five RBIs.

For the season, Youchak is hitting .500 with nine doubles and a home run. He has knocked in 17 runs with a slugging percentage of .740 and an on base percentage of .534. He is a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts.

Youchak and the Blue Jays will put their ten-game win streak on the line on Tuesday, April 1. The Blue Jays travel to Chestertown, MD to face Washington College at 3:30 p.m.
