LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins sophomore right fielder Brian Youchak (Pittsburgh, PA/Vincentian Academy) was named the Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday by the league office. Youchak, who helped the Blue Jays run their win streak to 10 games and clinch the top seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs, earned player of the week honors for the second time this season.

Youchak started his week by going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored at home versus Dickinson. He had a home run and a stolen base in the contest as well. In the Blue Jays' 27-4 win over Washington, he went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. On Friday at Dickinson, Youchak was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a run scored and a double. Youchak helped the Blue Jays to a doubleheader sweep of Franklin & Marshall on Saturday that allowed the team to clinch the top spot in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs. He was a combined 6-for-9 with eight RBIs, four runs scored, three extra base hits and a stolen base. In the second game of the doubleheader, all three of his hits were for extra bases including two home runs, one of which was a grand slam.

For the week, Youchak hit .619 for the week (13-for-21) while scoring eight runs and driving in 15. His hits and RBIs led the team in both categories. Youchak had five extra base hits including three home runs and collected 25 total bases. He had a slugging percentage of 1.190 and an on-base percentage of .619. Youchak was also a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases.

For the season, Youchak is hitting .530 with 13 doubles and six home runs. He has knocked in 41 runs with a slugging percentage of .860 and an on base percentage of .550. He is a perfect 14-for-14 in stolen base attempts and is currently on a 13-game hit streak.

Youchak and the Blue Jays will put their ten-game win streak on the line on Tuesday, April 22. The Blue Jays travel to Montclair State for a 7 p.m. contest.
