CAPE COD, MA - Johns Hopkins sophomore right fielder Brian Youchak (Pittsburgh, PA/Vincentian Academy) was named the ECAC South Baseball Player of the Week on Wednesday. Youchak, who was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week on Monday, has led the Blue Jays to 11 straight victories and a 28-4 record.

In five games last week, Youchak hit .619 (13-for-21) while scoring eight runs and driving in 15. His hits and RBIs led the team in both categories. Youchak had five extra base hits including three home runs and collected 25 total bases. He had a slugging percentage of 1.190 and an on-base percentage of .619. Youchak was also a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases. His strong play last week helped the Blue Jays clinch the top seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs.

For the season, Youchak is hitting .524 with 14 doubles and six home runs. He has knocked in 41 runs with a slugging percentage of .848 and an on base percentage of .544. He is a perfect 15-for-15 in stolen base attempts and is currently on a 14-game hit streak.

Youchak and the Blue Jays will put their eleven-game win streak on the line on Thursday, April 24. The Blue Jays will host York College of PA in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
