YORK, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's crew team won the overall points trophy at the Mid-Atlantic Division III Regional Championships Saturday in York, PA for the second straight year. Hopkins finished with 26 points, 10 points ahead of second place Rutgers-Camden.

The varsity 8 crew of freshman Andrew Faulkner (Anchorage, AK/Phillips Academy Andover (MA)), seniors Chris Vaglia (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) and Josiah Drewien (Hailey, ID/The Community School), sophomores Joshua Crist (Macedonia, OH/Nordonia) and Pete Ranieri (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial), freshman Will Cooper (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderice), junior Taylor Reese (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) and freshman William Bagdorf (Old Lyme, CT/Lyme-Old Lyme) won with a time of 6:01.40.

The varsity 4 crew of Faulkner, Vaglia, Drewien and Cooper finished second with a time of 6:46.6. The varsity 4 crew of junior Cameron Ward (Bremerton, VA/Olympic) and sophomores Dante Ross (Napa, CA/Vintage), Larkin Luo (Elk Grove, CA/Franklin) and Alexander Baish (Ijamsville, MD/Georgetown Prep) finished fifth in a time of 7:28.3.
 

 

The novice 8 crew of freshmen Daniel Bagdorf (Old Lyme, CT/Lyme-Old Lyme), W. Bagdorf, George Reynolds (Washington, CT/Kent School) and Christian Honore (Princeton, NJ/Princeton High), sophomore Adam Ammar (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young), freshmen Marcus Webb (Moultrie, GA/Maclay School (FL)), Steve Cardinali (Pequannock, NJ/Pequannock Township) and Max Thorsbakken (Eau Claire, WI/Eau Claire Memorial) took gold with a time of 6:19.2.

The novice 4 crew of D. Bagdorf, Honore, Reynolds and Webb finished in second in 6:45.0. The crew of Cardinali, Thorsbakken, Ammar and freshman Eric Chen (Macungie, PA/Shanghai American School) finished in third in 6:56.0.

Hopkins will return to action on May 4 at the Mid Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships in Lorton, VA.
