Li Wins the Discus as Hopkins Competes at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, PA - Peter Li won the discus throw as the Johns Hopkins men's track and field team competed at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Jays captured four different events on the day.
Li had a 43.37m to capture the discus and qualify for the ECAC Championship in the process. He also finished second in the shot put with a final toss of 13.84m.
Adam Waddell won the pole vault with a 4.50m. He qualified for the ECAC Championship with that height. Teammate Matt Trachtenberg was second in the pole vault with a 4.35m, also qualifying for ECAC's. Waddell also took fourth in the high jump at 1.88m.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Andrew Barnett recorded a 10:56.46 to capture fifth place. Chris Cottrell took fifth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.60. With a time of 4:06.72, Noah Jampol recorded a fourth place finish in the 1,500-meter run.
Nate Sotuyo finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.63. Tristan Thomas won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.33 and qualified for the ECAC's. David Sigmon finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:52.84.
The 4x100 relay team recorded a time of 43.27 to capture the event and qualify for ECAC's. The 4x800 relay team took fourth with a time of 8:16.94. The 4x400 relay team posted a time of 3:29.30 to take second place.
The track and field team will be back in action on April 18th at the Widener Invitational
