SHIPPENSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday in its final tune-up for the Centennial Conference Championship. Michael Yuan took third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to lead the Blue Jays.

Yuan took third place as he completed the course in 10:21.90. Yuan's teammate Andrew Barnett took fifth place with a time of 10:55.95. Braham Kumar placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.27. James Bronson and Nate Sotuyo each placed in the top ten for the 800-meter run. Bronson posted a time of 1:58.60, good for ninth place. Sotuyo's time of 1:58.84 gave him 10th place in the event.

Steve Tobochnik grabbed a seventh place finish in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:03.71. Jordan Litner had a strong day in the hurdles with a fourth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles and a fifth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Litner posted a time of 59.48 in the 400 and 16.67 in the 110.

Matt Trachtenberg took sixth in the pole vault as he posted a 4.27m. Devin McDermott was 12th in the long jump after reaching 6.19m. Peter Li finished fourth in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Li posted a 43.82m in the discus and a 14.40m in the shot put.

Hopkins will return to the track on Friday, May 2 for the Centennial Conference Championship. This year's championship is being hosted by Gettysburg.
