Johns Hopkins Has Three Earn All-Academic Honors from the USTFCCA

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Three runners from the Johns Hopkins men's cross-country team earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association for their performances both at the Mideast Regional Championship this season and in the classroom. The Blue Jays also captured a team all-academic award.
Senior Andrew Harrington (New Rochelle, NY/Fieldston), junior Geoff Nunns (Danville, CA/Monte Vista) and freshman Steven Tobochnik (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix) earned all-academic honors for the first time in their career.
Tobochnik placed 33rd with a time of 25:55 at the regional meet while Nunns was just three seconds behind Tobochnik at 25:58 to claim 34th place in the meet. Harrington took 68th place with a time of 26:39 at the regional meet.
Hopkins placed three runners on the team that saw 150 Division III athletes selected. To earn a spot on the team, the athlete must have succeeded both academically and athletically. The athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet. To earn the team award, the team must have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average and have earned a team score at the NCAA regional meet.
Nunns and Tobochnik will return to lead a talented Blue Jay squad next season.
