At a Glance: Johns Hopkins will finally open its conference slate on Sunday when Vanderbilt visits Homewood Field. JHU is looking to get back in the win column after a tough 9-8 loss at Penn Wednesday night. Vanderbilt is also coming off a loss, 14-8 at Northwestern on Sunday.

Against the Commodores: Johns Hopkins leads the all-time series with Vanderbilt, 5-2. The Commodores won the first ever meeting back in 2002, the Blue Jays then rattled off four straight in the series. Last season, Vanderbilt won the regular season meeting in Nashville in overtime. A month later, in the inaugural ALC Tournament in Baltimore, Hopkins got revenge with a 12-10 win.

Last Time Out: The Blue Jays rallied from a six-goal deficit against the #8 Quakers on Wednesday night to make it a one-goal game with 18 seconds left in regulation. Hopkins won the draw and senior Lauren Schwarzmann went rigth to the cage. However, Quakers goalie Sarah Waxman lunged to her left and saved Schwarzmann's shot as time ran out.

Schwarzmann and sophomore Paige Ibello led the Blue Jays with two goals and one assist each. Sophomore goalie Lizzie O'Ferrall was credited with a career-high 10 saves in the loss.

Helpers: Eight different Blue Jays had tallied an assist so far this season, with sophomore Brett Bathras leading the way with a career-high 13 assists. Sophomore Danielle Ensley ranks second with six assists, also a career-high. Bathras now has 18 career assists, ranking her 13th in school Division I history.

Youth Serves: So far this season, sophomores and freshmen have been doing the majority of the scoring for the Blue Jays. The two classes have scored 39 of the Blue Jays last 58 goals (67.2 percent). On the season, the class of 2010 and 2011 have contributed 64 of the team's 107 goals or 59.8 percent of the scoring.

Century Club: Senior Lauren Schwarzmann totaled five points in Hopkins win over #19 Denver on March 30, scoring four goals and dishing one assist. Her free position goal, her fourth of the game, at 11:10 in the second half gave Schwarzmann 100 career points. She is just the ninth player in Johns Hopkins Division I history to reach the 100 career point mark and now has 104 points for her career.

Thank You Seniors: Johns Hopkins will honor its six seniors prior to the game on Sunday. The group has guided the Blue Jays to a 40-23 record in their four seasons and trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2005 and 2007.

Playing their final season for the Blue Jays are: Katie Dumais, Sarah Gallion, Kiby Houck, Erin O'Boyle, Lauren Schwarzmann and Kadie Stamper.

Scouting the Commdores: Vanderbilt game the three-time defending champions a game on Sunday before falling 14-8 at Northwestern Senior goalkeeper Brooke Shinaberry made 13 saves on the day, keeping the Commodores in the game until Northwestern scored seven of the final eight goals as Vanderbilt transitioned to an aggressive defense to gain possession.

Vanderbilt is led by senior All-Americans Margie Curran and Sasha Cielak. Cielak was named the ALC Player of the Week after a pair of impressive performances against Cornell and Penn State.

Records Watch: Senior Kadie Stamper ranks second all-time in JHU history with 191 career draw controls, just 11 shy of tying the program's all-time record of 202 (Jamie Larrimore `02). Stamper also ranks ninth in school Division I history with 80 goals, 10th in points (97), eighth in caused turnovers (59) and ninth in ground balls (130).

Senior Lauren Schwarzmann ranks seventh in JHU DI history with 35 career assists. She is also 11th in career goals (69), ninth in points (104) and fifth in draw controls (78).

Tewaaraton Watch List: Senior middie Lauren Schwarzmann has been named to the 2008 Warrior Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List. She is one of 44 players named to the list. The Tewaaraton Trophy is presented annually to the top male and female lacrosse players in the nation.

Schwarzmann has tallied 12 goals and four assists in six games after missing four due to illness. She has also scooped up four ground balls, controlled 13 draws and is 5-of-8 on free position shots.

Home Sweet Home: Johns Hopkins has just two home games left on its schedule this season.The Blue Jays host the Vanderbilt Commodores on April 6 and then hit the road for four straight. The Blue Jays close out the regular season at home on Monday, April 28 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The game was originally scheduled for March 9, but was postponed due to heavy snow in Ohio. The Blue Jays are 65-27 (.706) at home under head coach Janine Tucker since 1999.

All-Time Record: The Blue Jays are in their 33rd season of lacrosse with an all-time record of 323-192-4 (.626). As a Division I program, Johns Hopkins boasts a 106-57 (.650) record in 10 seasons.

21 In a Row: Johns Hopkins has posted 21 consecutive winning seasons overall, including nine as a Division I program. Among DI schools, the Blue Jays streak of nine consecutive winning seasons is tied for eighth all-time. Among all divisions, Hopkins' streak of 21 consecutive seasons with a winning record ranks fourth all-time.

Snowed Out: Johns Hopkins was slated to host Ohio State on March 9 in both teams' American Lacrosse Conference opener. However, due to heavy snow in Ohio, the Buckeyes were unable to make the trip to Baltimore. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, April 28 at 3:00 pm as part of a double-header with the men's lacrosse team. The men will host Mount St. Mary's at 7:00 pm that night.

10th Anniversary: The 2008 season is the 10th anniversary of Johns Hopkins' move to the Division I level. The Blue Jays are 106-57 (.650) in 10 DI seasons. Hopkins was a Division III team from 1976 to 1998 and posted a 217-135 (.616) record. The Blue Jays made nine trips to the NCAA DIII tournament and won two MAC and four Centennial Conference titles.

We're Going Streaking: Four Blue Jays have active scoring streaks entering today's game. Senior Kirby Houck leads the way with an eight-game point streak. While sophomore Brett Bathras is on a seven-game point streak. Sophomore Paige Ibello has a point in the last four games and senior Lauren Schwarzmann is on a three-game point streak and sophomore Sam Scbrum has a point in each of the last two games.

Bathras' streak of seven consecutive games with an assist is tied for the fifth longest in Hopkins Division I history.

Preseason Honors: Seniors Lauren Schwarzmann and Kadie Stamper, along with sophomore Sam Schrum have been named to the American Lacrosse Conference Preseason All-Conference Team.

In addition, Stamper was named a preseason Third Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse. She earned All-America honors from Inside Lacrosse in 2005 and 2006.

Red, White and Blue: Senior Lauren Schwarzmann was named to the U.S. Developmental Team last August. She is the second player under head coach Janine Tucker in the last two years to represent the United States. Mary Key `07 was named to the Developmental Team in 2005 and 2006. Last fall, Key was named to the U.S. Elite Team.

Oh Captain, My Captain: Seniors Sarah Gallion, Kirby Houck and Lauren Schwarzmann will serve as captains for the Blue Jays in 2008. Gallion is the Blue Jays leader on defense.

Preseason Pickings: Johns Hopkins has been picked to finish second in the ALC behind three-time NCAA Champion Northwestern. The Blue Jays, who were the runners-up at the inaugural ALC Tournament last May, just edged out the Vanderbilt Commodores for the number two slot. Penn State is picked to finish in fourth, followed by Ohio State in fifth.
