FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The #21 Johns Hopkins women's tennis team ran into undefeated and #1 Washington & Lee on Sunday, falling 7-2. The Blue Jays suffer just their second loss of the season and slip to 13-2 while the Generals improve to 21-0.

Hopkins picked up wins at second doubles and third singles in the loss to W&L. Sophomore Amanda Schubert (Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin) and freshman Abby Dwyer (Stuart, FL/Jensen Beach) improved to 9-2 on the season with a hard-fought 9-8 (9-7) win at second doubles over Leah Weston and Catherine Reed. At third singles, freshman Yasmine Elamir (Saddle River, NJ/Heritage Academy (SC)) won her 14th straight match in beating Weston 6-2, 7-5.

The Blue Jays conclude their regular season on Tuesday, April 22 when the Mary Washington Eagles visit Baltimore. The match is scheduled for 4:00 pm. Hopkins will then host the 2008 Centennial Conference Championship April 25 and April 27.
