Hopkins Competes at Lafayette Rider Games

NEW YORK, NY - The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team competed at the Lafayette-Rider Games on Friday afternoon in New York.The meet consisted of teams from all divisions in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Paula Osborn broke the school record in the 60-meter dash to lead the Blue Jays.
Osborn ran a 8.16 in the 60-meter dash to finish 16th and break the school record in the process. She also qualified for the ECAC's in that event and the 200-meter dash. Osborn ran a 26.96 to finish 35th in that event.
Christina Valerio completed the 5,000-meter run in 18.57.48 to finish sixth. Rachel Hogen ran a ECAC qualifying time of 5:12.44 in the one-mile and finished 14th.
The Blue Jays had two runners finish in the top 20 in the 800-meters. Jordan Ireton ran a 2:22.03 to finish 15th with an ECAC qualifying time. Kit Harris took 16th place with a time of 2:22.78 whiel Martina Dodd ran a season best 2:26.50 in the event to take 27th place.
The 4x400 relay team of Osborn, Anita Mikkilineni, Dodd and Ireton completed their race in 4:11.62. The team just missed the school record and qualified for ECAC's in the process. Jessica Reeves had a 9'10" in the pole vault for a personal best and finished tied for 16th.
Hopkins is back on the track, Friday February 22 at the Haverford Keough Invitational.
