GETTYSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team is in second place after day one of the Centennial Conference Championship, hosted by Gettysburg. Haverford leads the way with 21 points while the Blue Jays have 20 points after the first round of action.

The Blue Jays had two runners place in the top ten in the 10,000-meters on Friday. Emma Hiza took seventh place with a time of 39:41.27 while Angela Kaon was tenth after posting a time of 40:46.11.

The duo of Jessica Reeves and Logan Ashcraft took second and third in the pole vault. Reeves recorded a height of 3.05m while Ashcraft had a final vault of 2.75m.

Kathy Horn is competing in the heptathlon for the Blue Jays as the first four events were held on Friday. Horn took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.21 and third in the 100-meter hurdles after posting a 17.51. She was second in the high jump after recording a 1.37m. Horn was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 7.79m.

Action resumes on Saturday for day two of the Centennial Conference Championships at Gettysburg.
