Owls Ink Charlotte Transfer
Feb. 14, 2008
KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State women's soccer head coach Rob King announced on Thursday that Rachel Baer has transferred to KSU and will begin playing with the Owls in the fall of 2008. Baer comes to the Owls program after playing three successful seasons for the Charlotte 49ers. The Marietta, Ga., native and former Harrison High School product tallied three goals and one assist while playing in 15 games during her junior campaign at Charlotte. "Rachel makes intelligent runs, with pace, and finishes very well," said King. "She is an experienced forward and a great addition to our squad." Prior to her time for last year's Atlantic 10 Champions, Baer was named the 2005 Marietta Daily Journal/Cobb County Girls Soccer Player of the Year as well as an Atlanta Journal Constitution First Team selection. As a senior captain for Harrison, Baer helped lead the Hoyas to a region championship and an appearance in the state semifinals. Baer will help to fill the void left by last season's Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year, Annie Phillips. |
