KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's soccer team will welcome the Mexican U-20 National Team to campus for the First Annual Get Global Challenge on April 11 at the KSU Soccer Complex.

The defending Atlantic Sun Conference champions will host their first international friendly, although the event will be the fourth international competition at the KSU Soccer Complex.

"We have always received interest about hosting international matches because of the quality of our pitch," said Kennesaw State head coach Rob King. "However, this will be the first time that we will be participating in an international match on our pitch and we are very proud and excited to be playing such a quality side in the Mexican U-20 National Team."

The Owls first international friendly at home, which is looking to be the highest attended match ever at the KSU Soccer Complex, will be part of Mexico's five-match trip through the United States. The Mexican National Team will also play the University of Houston and UAB from Conference USA, Texas A&M from the Big XII and the University of Georgia from the Southeastern Conference.

The Mexico team is led by the ultra-talented, Charlyn Corral. The 16-year old Corral was the team's top scorer with eight goals at the last CONCACAF qualifier for the FIFA U20 Women's World Championship in Russia in 2006.

Kennesaw State made its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance last season and had nine players receive all-conference recognition. The Owls will be led by last year's A-Sun tournament Most Outstanding Player, Caitlin Dingle. The junior led the A-Sun in both points and goals last season.

The single-match event is named the Get Global Challenge and is associated with Kennesaw State University's Get Global Initiative, a university-wide internalization effort formally known as Global Learning for Engaged Citizenship.

The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, April 11. with 2,000 tickets available for $14.00 per ticket. For more information please visit www.ksuowls.com or call 770-423-OWLS.
