Men's Golf Team In Third At All-American Classic

SPRING, Texas -- The Lamar men's golf team sits in a tie for third place after two rounds of the All-American Golf Classic at the Tradition Course at Cypresswood Golf Club.

The Cardinals' 593 total is tied with tournament host Houston and just six shots back of leader Arkansas-Little Rock and one behind Baylor heading into Tuesday`s final round. Lamar was in third after the first round on Monday as well.

Russell Helson shaved six shots off his opening-round 75 for a three-under-par 69 - the second-lowest score of the day - and sits in a tie for third with four other players at 144.

Hugues Joannes shot 149 to stand in a tie for 19th, Leroux Ferriera tallied back-to-back 75s and is tied for 24th at 150. Casey Clendenon's 75-76 puts in a tie for 28th while Justin Harding is tied for 36th at 153.

The tournament will conclude with a single round on Tuesday morning.
