Lamar Finishes Seventh At All-American Golf Classic

SPRING, Texas - The Lamar men's golf team slipped four spots to finish in seventh place with a 903 total at the All-American Golf Classic at the Tradition Course at Cypresswood Golf Club.

Russell Helson was the top finisher for Lamar, placing in a tie for seventh at 222 after a final round 78. Leroux Ferriera, Hugues Joannes and Justin Harding all finished with 54-hole scores of 227, 228 and 229, respectively. Harding turned in the team's low round of the day at 76. Casey Clendenon shot 85 and finished tied for 54th with a 236.

Middle Tennessee won the team title with an 891 by one shot over Arkansas-Little Rock, despite the Trojans Brian Whittle claiming the individual medalist crown at five-under 211..

Lamar will return to action March 10-11 when it travels to Murrells Inlet, S.C., for the General Jim Hackler Invitational.
