SHREVEPORT, La. - The Lamar University men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win on Wednesday afternoon, downing the Centenary Gents in Shreveport, La.

The Cardinals began the match by winning the doubles point to take control. The No. 1 doubles pair of Filip Kanczula and Maciej Bogusz defeated Mark Rodgman and Jacob Dawson 8-5, while Emmanuel Olivier and David Wanja blew past Oscar Medellin and Gerry Lozano 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. In the three spot, Tyler Cobb and Devin Harley cruised to an 8-2 win over Alejandro Ahuja and Seva Kostelanetz.

In singles play the Cardinals won easily, taking all six points in straight sets. Kanczula downed Rodgman 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1, Bogusz won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 over Ahuja and Diego Snyder defeated Medellin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. In match at No. 4 Diego Snyder blanked Lozano 6-0, 6-0, Nils Iwdal posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kostelanetz at No. 5 and Andres Media served up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Dawson at No. 6.
 

 

Lamar, who improves to 5-6 overall with the victory, will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Troy in Troy, Ala. at 1 p.m.
