CONWAY, Ark. - The Lamar University women's basketball team heads back on the road this week for a pair of games against Central Arkansas and Northwestern State.

The Lady Cards start the week against UCA on Thursday night at 7:00, looking to snap a three game skid and get back to their winning ways against two teams they defeated earlier in the season at the Montagne Center. Lamar took down UCA 75-62 on January 24 and followed that win with a 56-47 win over Northwestern State two days later.

Lamar enters the game with a 13-10 overall record and a 6-4 record in Southland Conference play, on the heels of a 69-53 loss to Texas State last Saturday at the Montagne Center

The Lady Cardinals are led by freshman Tamara Abalde, who is averaging team highs with 16.1 points per game along with 7.3 rebounds per game, while junior Nikki Williams is averaging 13.3 points per game and has a team-high 92 assists and 59 steals. Sophomore Brittney Williams is averaging 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while senior Aida Bakhos is averaging 7.0 points 7.0 rebounds per game.

As a team the Lady Cardinals are shooting .401 from the field and are averaging 65 points per game while allowing 64.3 points per game. Lamar has also won the battle on the boards this season, out rebounding their opponents 38.5 to 37.8. UCA enters the game with a 6-18 season record and a 4-7 mark in SLC play. The last time they took the court they rolled over Sam Houston State87-69 to snap a two game losing skid.

The Sugar Bears are led by Laura Beth Anderson who is averaging 10.9 points while passing out 122 assists, while Kia Lee has averaged 10 points per game. Allyson Sample has led UCA in rebounding with 6.1 boards per contest.
 

 

As a team Central Arkansas is averaging 63.6 points per game, while allowing their opponents 78.6 points per contest. They are shooting .363 from the field, while their opponents are connecting on .417 of their shots. The Sugar Bears have also been out rebounded this season, giving up 45.9 boards per game while grabbing 40.2 of their own.
